Statue Ghybe
This statue (designed by L. De Gheus in 2005) refers to the cloth struggle between Poperinge and Ieper.
This satiric figure symboliszs the 3 major cloth towns, Ghent, Ypres and Bruges which governed the county of Flanders (the donkey) in an incorrect manner (Ghybe sits backwards) and tried to suppress stubborn Poperinge (the boulder).
