The pride of Poperinge
Green hop cones are transformed into a tasty blond brew. A refreshing beer with a characteristic aroma and taste.

Over 1,300 volunteers pay tribute to the hops during the triennial Beer & Hops Festival. Because since the Middle Ages, the commodity has been central in Poperinge.

Today, no fewer than 18 hop growers in this region dedicate themselves to maintaining their 160 hectares of hop fields with passion.

Poperinge is synonymous with hops. And whoever says hops, says beer. Which beers and how many you will discover in the hop museum or on one of the hop farms. You will learn all about the history, the picking and the processing. Worth a visit!

Beer Experience

Hop farms

Come to Poperinge and you’ll see large and characteristic hop fields all around. No less than 160 hectares in fact, all cared for by 18 hop farmers from Poperinge. Did you know that you can actually visit several of these hop farms?

Hop shoots

Poperinge is a town for real foodies. It’s the home of the edible gold: the hop shoot — a vegetable that makes many a person salivate.
